First, I wanted to commend Hazel Nott on her beautifully written article. Truly wonderful work, dear. And thank you all of you who participated in the interview process. Your words were professional and represented our organization well.
I would like to quickly remind you ladies to make certain you have your donations picked out soon. Walburga would like to solidify it as soon as possible. Also, I have spoken to TerrorTours and they will be auctioning off a generous trip donation. Twilfit & Tattings will also be auctioning off a gift voucher for a good deal of money to be spent in their store. I'll have to make certain I don't bid too highly on that one. I do so love their robes, and Lucius is all too aware of it. Status on other businesses, witches?
Last but not least (and this must be said), thank you all for the hard work you've been putting into this gala. I am truly so excited; I think it will be a marvelous event, indeed. Perhaps one of our best yet.

I want to thank everyone for donating to the Muggle Assistance Fund with the Purple Hats charity organization in mind. We here at the Purple Hats admire charity in all forms, and as Minister Bagnold said in her Fireside Chat, the fact that so many people of different walks of life can open their pocketbooks and donate shows that we have kind and generous souls among us. Together, we are all able to make a difference.
Lucius and I will be making our annual contribution announcement this year. This is, of course, in addition to what we will buy and sell at the Charity Auction Gala. In the past, we have donated to St. Mungo's, Hogwarts, various departments of the Ministry of Magic, Diagon Alley, Hogsmeade, and so on and so forth.
This year we will be donating generously to two departments in the Ministry of Magic, one being The Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures (DMC), which suffered a great loss with Mr. Hamish Ferguson and his family being attacked and killed by magical beasts earlier on this year. Since this department and those who work in it have become something of a target, we hope that our money could go toward protecting the Ministry personnel involved, as well as aid in other aspects of the department. We truly hope this money will help benefit security for all.
Second, Lucius and I will be donating to the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes (DMAC) in its entirety. Muggle Liaisons is a difficult, thankless job. Perhaps there will come a day when we do not need to live in hiding from them anymore, but until then we must take a moment to appreciate all that this department does to provide a safe, separate environment but still respectful and mindful of Muggles and their way of living. Their patience and understanding must be rewarded.
As always, and to repeat what Minister Bagnold has said, if you are able during these times of war, always lend a hand to your neighbor. One small act of kindness can go a long way, and in the end, nothing is more rewarding than giving back to the community as a whole.

Ladies, I just realized that June 5th is not terribly far away! I would like to have a special birthday party for my son, Draco, on that day. He'll be turning one.

I was having Dobby do a bit of spring cleaning, and he turned up with some wizarding photographs that I had misplaced and then had completely forgotten about. It's very unlike me to misplace anything. However, I went through some of the album and found quite a few beautiful photographs of my family.

Important meeting this week, witches. We have much to discuss in terms of the auction gala which is swiftly approaching. If one of you witches would be so kind as to handle invitations, it would be greatly appreciated. It has been decided that the event will be held at the beautiful Rosier estate.
Time and date has yet to be decided (other than mid-April), but I do think that we can discuss that here before the meeting. I would like to come to some sort of finalization before our meeting on Thursday, but if we cannot, then we may wait until Thursday.

It was gorgeous outside today. March is my favorite month. I took Draco for a stroll, and then we sat outside in the garden while my mother dropped by for a visit. Lucius and I have albino peacocks living at Malfoy Manor. There are only two at the moment, but I think they're so beautiful that I want more. The others we have are just the regular kind -- and of course they're beautiful as well, but not as stunning as the white ones in my opinion.
I think, because it is Spring now and it was warmer than usual, they decided to be social.

Little Draco was so adorable this afternoon. I took him to Diagon to get fitted for a new pair of robes. He tried on at least five pairs, screaming and crying throughout (the wretched saleswitch just wouldn't work fast enough), until finally the last one -- which he apparently deemed good enough, as he started to wave his arms around and laugh. That pair was obviously the most expensive pair. Even at 8-months-old, he truly has lovely taste, but I suppose that's unsurprising since he is a Malfoy, after all.
I pondered not buying them simply because the saleswitch was so beastly. She kept stuttering at me, and her hands were shaking so badly that she almost poked Draco with a pin as she attempted to hem his pant leg. Almost. There's no telling what I would have done if she had done so. However, she seemed altogether too desperate to make commission, so I wound up taking them anyway regardless of the terrible service.
It did make me realize how much a personal seamstress might be worth looking into. Lucius and I allow Dobby to make hems here and there, but we would never trust him to make our clothing, and certainly not Draco's.
WARDED TO FRIENDS & FAMILY
I love my mother very much, but she showed up unannounced today. It took all that I could to hide my annoyance. Be not mistaken, my mother is a beautiful and lovely woman, but I daresay she will always view me as her little girl. She always has quite a lot to say about how I run my home -- suggestions, and what have you. While I am not above her advice (she did, after all, bring up Bella and I and did quite a wonderful job doing so), I cannot help but wish she knew the appropriate time for such a thing.

Mother will be staying for a few days. She brought over her trunk. I believe she's lonely without father around, but she'll never admit that.
We'll have to do our best to accommodate her during her stay.

The more the merrier, as they say, and our dining room table is quite large. We shall have the house elves prepare a delicious 8 course meal in celebration.

WARDED TO PURPLE HATS LADIES
Witches, there's a topic I would like to spend most of our upcoming Thursday meeting talking about, and that is the preemptive measures that we can take as wives and mothers to protect our children and families from the atrocities of this war -- particularly in reference to the recent Dark Army attacks.
I urge you all to bring any books that might shed some further light on these creatures so that we may discuss them in detail, and what we are able to do to protect ourselves should we need to. Let us hope there is never a time for that, but it certainly does not hurt to be prepared.
Also, in the meantime (and this should go without saying), I urge you ladies not to post current photographs of yourself, your family, or your children in these journals without proper wards. The Dark Army has infested these journals, and it is no longer safe to write in them freely. I understand that I am likely stating the obvious to most, if not all of you intelligent ladies, but I was very disturbed to see someone (not among us) not take proper precautions earlier. It goes without saying -- and certainly the news can attest to it -- these creatures are killers and they particularly prey on the young, regardless of blood. Take caution. Be alert. We are witches, which means we are well beyond the capabilities of these uncivilized monsters, but sometimes silly mistakes such as those can be fatal. I must remind myself of it daily, as a young and new mother.

I know that you are away on business, but perhaps you will see this while traveling:
As much as it is lovely to be right about the Nott girls, it's terrible to watch such reputable Pure-blood families crumble amidst this war. It does not make me feel good to see such names tarnished, such names that my forefathers and your forefathers have worked hard to maintain relations with to facilitate bloodlines that are Pure for generations to come.
I find myself depressed more often than not, because I know that this will only get worse. The violence will not stop. It's a terribly vicious cycle, my love. I sometimes wish we had not brought Draco into this world, even though he is our pride and joy. Bellatrix grows angrier by the day, and while I cannot blame her, I fear her capabilities, and what she will do to feel as though she has gained some semblance of control over these mongrels.
Oh, my sweet. To live in a world without Muggles, Muggle-borns, and Blood-traitors...is that really so much to ask? All my life I've wanted so badly for it to be reality -- but's so exhausting, living life as a never-ending battle.
Lucius, I have but one constant in this world, and that constant is you. You and I will work to ensure our son's future is a good one, and we will navigate through this chaotic world together. If you promise me anything, promise me that.

My son is coughing incessantly. His skin is a normal colour, but I believe he might have a rash on his right arm. It's a red mark. I know every aspect of my infant's body, I check him daily, and I have never seen it before.
My husband has been fighting the illness that has been going around the Ministry. I worry that he has gotten our dear son Draco sick. He is only six months old, and I worry that since he is so young it could truly do some harm that his tiny immune system cannot fight.
Please, I would like to request a visit from one of you. I would go to Mungo's, but I fear a trip outside in the blistering cold will infect my son further. He is delicate.
My husband Lucius and I will pay you double for this visit. It would be our pleasure, after you have been so kind to accommodate us.
WARDED TO LUCIUS (ADDED LATER)
I don't want a live-in masseuse anymore. I want a Healer of upstanding blood to be on-call for us, lest Draco comes down with any sort of sickness ever again. I feel extremely uncomfortable letting a Mudblood into our home, but Draco's condition worries me and she was the first to respond.

Please look into it for me, darling? Don't come near Draco when you come home, lest he catches fever next. I love you.

Witches, thank you so much for the fabulous afternoon. You were all such marvelous company and I don't think I have laughed quite that hard in a while. Moira, I hope you had a lovely time. Lucius, like the dear that he is, spared no expense on the spa equipment and staff. He enjoys doing such things, especially for a friend who is so dear to me and many others.
I don't think my hands, feet, and legs have felt so soft! And I truly did need that massage. My goodness, I'm thinking of hiring him full-time. Do you think Lucius will mind?
